Big Little Lies (2017)
Based on the bestseller of the same name and with performances by top Hollywood actors, the miniseries “Big Little Lies” is a black comedy set in Monterey, California. It all starts with a suspicious murder at an elementary school fundraiser. Initially, the victim and the perpetrator are shrouded in mystery, and it is possible that the murder must have been caused by the rivalries and secrets of the three mothers’: home, Madeline Mackenzie’s (Reese Witherspoon), who is jealous of the wife of the younger of her ex-husband, Celeste Wright, (Nicole Kidman) and best friend, Madeline, an ex-lawyer corporate law, with a marriage of a seemingly perfect younger man (Alexander Skarsgard), Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley), a single mother with a dark past Madeline and Celeste take her under the wings of their protector. The story spans seven tense and subversive episodes, revealing how every woman had something to hide before the tragedy.
